After having an epidural during the births of my first and second children, I knew I wanted the third time to be different and started researching how I could achieve a much longed-for drug-free birth.

I had read about the services doulas provide and knew that Michelle was the woman I wanted by my side from the word go. She was professional yet light-hearted and warm, and I was completely buoyed by her positivity. I was doubting whether or not I could do it, but she certainly wasn’t!

She was so accommodating during the pre-natal visits and I really appreciated the fact that she could schedule our appointments on the weekend so that my husband could look after our two older children as we discussed in detail the kind of birth I wanted. Her pre-natal massages were just heavenly!

Michelle arrived promptly at the hospital, despite my body’s uncanny ability to go into labour at extremely ungodly hours! I felt immediately comfortable, reassured and so very nurtured. Michelle was my advocate, my voice when all I could do was bellow!

I laboured for 5 hours (including one hour of pushing) completely naturally and gave birth to a beautiful 9 pound, 1 ounce baby boy without a single stitch. I have absolutely no doubt that Michelle’s encouragement and positivity (not to mention her massage skills!) helped me to achieve a birth I could only have previously dreamed about.

If there is a next time, I will be calling Michelle as soon as the two lines come up! I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you so much Michelle.
